The short version

In: Doza Assist transcribes interviews and labels the speakers in about 100 languages. Out: it writes its analysis, soundbite titles, Story Brief, chat answers and quote sheets in any of 30 languages, set per project. Quotes always stay in the language they were spoken.

Choose any of these as the language of the interview, the language Doza writes in, or both. They don't have to match: transcribe a Norwegian interview, read the analysis in English, and every pulled quote stays in Norwegian.

Leave Language on Auto-detect and Doza Assist also transcribes these, with speaker labels. Its notes come back in English unless you pick one of the 30 above. Accuracy varies a lot from one language to the next, so try the free trial on your own footage first.

How it works

Set the language that's spoken

When you create a project, set Language to the language of the interview, or leave it on Auto-detect. Pick the wrong one and you get the wrong words: a German interview transcribed as English comes out as invented English sentences.

Choose the language Doza writes in

Output Language is set per project, when you create it or later from the project's ⚙ menu. It covers the Analysis, soundbite titles, Story Brief, Story Builder, chat and Quote Sheets. The default, Match interview language, writes in the language of the interview. Collections follow the interviews inside them.

Quotes stay as spoken

Doza never translates your subjects' words. Transcripts, soundbites and every quote you export keep the original language, even when the notes around them are in another.

A one-time download

English is ready once setup finishes. The first time you transcribe another language, the app downloads the speech model it needs, once. After that it works offline.

Does Doza Assist translate my interviews?

No. It transcribes each interview in the language spoken and never translates quotes. What you choose is the language Doza writes in: its analysis, soundbite titles, Story Brief and chat answers can be in any of the 30 languages above.

Can the interview be in one language and the notes in another?

Yes. Output Language is separate from the interview's language, so a Spanish interview can have its notes in English, or the reverse.

My language isn't listed. Will it work?
